And Jesus said unto them,
Can the children of the bridechamber fast,
while the bridegroom is with them?
as long as they have the bridegroom with them,
they cannot fast.
But the days will come,
when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them,
and then shall they fast in those days.
for lent i resolved not to lean
but i leant without having meant
to lean, what i mean
is i leaned without having meaned
to relent from my fasting from leaning
–not a fast to make lean,
or at least not too fast,
but a fast from the lean
and hence from the ‘leant’,
to solve this problem, i have resolved
to re-do lent — to re-lent? —
this time not relenting from not leaning,
so not re-leaning.
unless i fail, in which case i will have re-leant
during lent and relentlessly failed
to not have lent during lent.
meh, i meant leant, not lent.
